Jira is an amazing project management tool with a lot of handy features. Jira goes well with both - big and small teams, and has a set of terrific options like transparent workflow, possibility to set various types of tasks (e.g. bugs, improvements, research tasks) and to go into details about which version of the project needs to be worked on. It`s relatives Bitbucket and Confluence make a great addition to this high possibility solution, and make it a perfect choice for all kinds of organisations who are into software development.

-Striking set of features -Great pricing

-Complex -Perhaps not the best choice for marketing departments and simple kinds of projects where you can`t make full use of Jira

Basecamp is a user friendly project management tool with a simple, transparent and nice looking interface. It is a fantastic, and affordable tool for all kinds of web based projects. From all my favorite Basecamp features I would highlight these: to-do`s with calendar, daily project progress overview, email notification system, and search that can be filtered by a keyword.

-Easy to use and collaborate -Affordable -Nice looking -Fantastic search tool

-Less suitable for complex projects (not possible to assign a task to a group - just one person per task)
